Ok, so it’s taken a while, but we finally have worked out the nuts and bolts of hosting commissioned work from Independent producers on the Soundtrails Platform.
So far Soundtrails have been produced by Hamish Sewell and our wonderful sub-contracting producers.
We have had an ever growing interest from independent producers wanting to use the Soundtrails Platform for their projects. This has ramifications particularly in terms of content and copyright ownership and we needed to do some legal work around that.
Independent producers who wish to negotiate their own commission, have the opportunity to now build and publish their work on Soundtrails, from anywhere around the world at a modest cost.
We consider this move an important step towards building a more robust community of producers working with locative audio and creative place-based storytelling. You own it, we publish.
