Dear Friends of Locative Audio!

After a bums up – heads down hiatus we thought we’d have a bit of fun making a different kind of newsletter.  This campaign was fun to create and we hope you will enjoy it too.

We have have just soft-launched the Soundtrails Academy and with it our new website. Thus you have now – tadaa! – the ability to leave a reply to our posts. So give it to us straight; it would be lovely to hear from you.

Now, we invite you to click on the pink circles (hotspots) on the map if you want to hear Hamish and myself talk about nature, why we do what we do and what’s in store for Soundtrails.

Admittedly we do go on a bit, but you can quickly shut us up. (click the x).

So, go on, give it a go. Walk the Talk with Hamish and Bettina.

From Walking Trails to Soundtrails

We will be presenting an updated version of our talk ‘From Walking Trails to Soundtrails’ with Stephen Muecke and Jennifer Eadie at the Cultural Studies Association of Australasia (CSAA) Conference 2023 – on the 5th to 8th of December in Adelaide.

The talk is about the conceptual beginnings of a research project of mutual benefit. The aim is to develop a sustainable and equitable model for audio walking trails led by remote communities. How can locative audio be a force for good for  remote communities? How can we be of service?

Soundtrails are proud sponsors of

  • The STUFFit Student Film Festival – Soundtrails is supporting the development of our local creative and education industry. Congratulations to Robyn Cook and her team to organising an amazing event. Registrations for participating in the STUFFit crew 2024 are open now.

That’s us for now.

Stay curious.
